Nenu annadi India situation and not USA because you were suggesting fd. Fixed USA lo 6% no one will give and compounding is annual or semi annual. If you're suggesting sending to India and taking fd then I would definitely say no. With rupee depreciation and all the scrutiny around getting money back, it's a definite no. 

I'll take 12% roi any day to diversify my portfolio here in usa. Even index funds give around same range. Doubling won't happen for land in USA, land is abundant.
