Viveka murder: Is it CBI probe or TDP probe? - Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy

As the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) grilled YSR Congress MP from Kadapa Y S Avinash Reddy for over five hours on Friday in connection with the murder of former minister Y S Vivekananda Reddy, the YSRCP has alleged that the entire probe is being stage managed by the Telugu Desam Party.

Avinash, who spoke to the reporters after being questioned by the CBI, alleged that the CBI affidavit in the high court contained the same allegations being made by the TDP all these days.

“The CBI authorities have ignored several issues including the letter written by Viveka before the death,” he alleged.

Senior YSRC leader and state government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy went a step ahead and alleged that the CBI probe into the incident was going on as per the directions of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu.

Sajjala said Naidu had been influencing the probe agency through his moles in the BJP. It is very clear that the CBI was deliberately taking the probe to target few people.

“We strongly believe that Avinash Reddy had no role to play in the murder of Viveka and there is no evidence for the same. Naidu is an expert in readying a perfect script to defame the leaders from the rival camp with a systematic campaign,” he said.

He said that murder took place when Naidu was at the helm in the state and it was a conspiracy hatched by TDP chief to demoralize YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy ahead of the last general elections. 

Sajjala reminded that it was Jagan who welcomed Viveka into party and fielded him in MLC elections in 2017. He ridiculed the argument that YSRCP itself hatched the conspiracy.

He alleged that TDP leaders Adinarayana Reddy, B Tech Ravi had close links with the criminals. He said that CBI had not interrogated B Tech Ravi, Adinarayana Reddy and brother-in-law of Vivekananda Reddy, Sivaprakash Reddy who first called Avinash to inform about the death.
