Gap Widening Between Jagan & Vijay Sai Reddy?

There have been strong rumours of late about the growing gap between CM Jagan and party national general secretary Vijay Sai Reddy. Sai Reddy, who once held immense command in YSRCP and perceived as Jagan’s trusted confidante and No.2 in the party, seems to be losing his priority among party leaders and party workers. No doubt, there were some incidents before which led to the speculations of Sai Reddy losing significance in the party. The latest incident has added more fuel to the ongoing rumours.

Taraka Ratna’s demise is one such issue where YCP wanted to target TDP politically as he suffered cardiac arrest on the opening day of Nara Lokesh’s padayatra. However, Vijay Sai Reddy was there throughout Taraka Ratna’s final rites considering the close relationship he share with Taraka Ratna’s wife Alekhya Reddy. Alekhya is none other than daughter of younger sister of Sunanda, wife of Sai Reddy.

Vijay Sai Reddy was there to console Alekhya Reddy. During this, he also sat next to Chandrababu Naidu, Balakrishna, Jr NTR and Kalyanram. He also praised Balakrishna for all his efforts.

However, some YSRCP leaders and party workers have widely put posts online against Sai Reddy for rubbing shoulders with arch rival Chandrababu. This whole episode got mixed response from YCP leaders. While some supported Sai Reddy as it is a family issue, many others opined that he should had been stayed away from Chandrababu.

Right from replacing Vijay Sai Reddy from the post of Uttarandhra incharge post till the recent postings in YCP, all indicate a setback for Sai Reddy in the party. Sai Reddy’s responsibilities were reduced considerably in the party.

Sai Reddy had played crucial role in 2019 polls for YCP. He had done work from the grassroots for the party. But after coming to power, he has been slowly sidelined. If this is not enough, the latest episode of Sai Reddy’s proximity with TDP leaders added more to the ongoing speculations.

This got an undue advantage for Sai Reddy’s rivals in YSRCP to corner him more in the party. On the whole, Sai Reddy is facing the heat in the party and cornered from all corners.
