Amazon Giftcard balance

I am shocked to know that you cannot do a simple balance check on Amazon gift cards.

You just have to redeem the giftcard, No option to just check the balance of the gift card.

Is it amazon.com gift card? They have option to check it once you login right

You add the gift card to your Amazon account and it shows how much balance remains after you use right?

If someone gifted you an amazon gift card (physical card), then if you scratch the 16 digit code and want to check the balance and  gift it to another person…it wont allow, Like how can check with other gift card balances.

you can check the balance only if you redeem the card into your account.
