As far as I know they can't openly sell the studio lands. They need government clearance to sell the lands. Mahesh babu and Krishna sold some lands belonging to Padmalaya but even that was very controversial and they had to get YSR's blessing to close the deal. Aa rojullo anta media kooda undedi kadu ippudunna situations ki anta open ga studio lands sell cheyyatam impossible. So basically they own the studio but not the underlying land. Alaa sale allowed unte most of the studios like Saradhi, Ramanaidu and Annapurna eppudo commercial complexes/ gated villa communities aipoyevi..

Maharashtra govt gave for bollywood studios. The AP govt gave for moving the industry from Madras to HYD. Adi leka pote TFI would have still stayed in Chennai. Whether you like the industry or not that's a personal matter but then govt gave land to attract industry from Tamil Nadu. 

Its similar to govt giving tax incentives to IT industry or land for companies to setup manufacturing unit. Nuvvu ivala solar lo big shot anuko and solar unit pedutanu ante TS or AP lo neeku koda condition based free land istaru.
