everyone wanted to do business with US after WW2.

US forced them to do business only in $, so everyone did transactions using it.

And stashed their cash in US, so Dollar became defacto for all international transactions due to stability of US both politically and economically

until then.

thats why the stability of a nation both political and economical is very important for currency sustainable..

and India is heading towards that..
