No layoffs because they never overhired yes…jobs point of view apple is correct… i am talking about whole economic point of view… these high interest rates are wrecking sector by sector… for example tech sector…it (high interest rates )will tight the money market ….no new ventures…in general case it should leads to immediate layoffs…but in tech sector it took time because companies having some cash reserves…(could be low tax, or pandemic benefits..etc) similarly banks are holding some bonds which are in unrealized losses which caused by high interest rates…if banks feeling cash crunch they have to sell the bonds for loss…which is very bad for their earnings… at this time situation is … banks may face another silent bomb in the name of CLO…(depends on the judgement ) https://www.axios.com/2023/03/08/leveraged-loans-appeals-court-private-credit Quote
subramanyam_for_sale Posted March 9, 2023 Report Posted March 9, 2023 apple just didn't spend the money, there was an analysis done to show what happened and which companies helped the economy overall, hiring and firing by google/meta etc helped the entire market way better than apple doing nothing, this will soon be a lesson in HBR I guess.
