The Elephant Whisperers is our very own Haathi Mere Saathi: a stunningly beautiful story set amidst the grassy and rugged, unexplored spaces of South India; it talks of the bond between Elephants and a remote, tribal couple. 

The Tamil the tribals speak is different and challenging even for Tamil-speaking people. Yet, the painstaking, detached, moving story, filmed with patience for five years by Kartiki Gonsalves and Guneet Monga, opens up the possibilities of editing life and presenting it as a film experience without being loud or preachy!

Elephant whisperers doesn’t have an impact or moments like RRR on Oscar’s stage though

The sanctuary was started by Jayalalithaa , even the elephant featured in the documentary was named after Jaya "Ammu" 

Too bad DMK govt stopped funding it because it was started by Jayalalithaa , maybe this will help them get some funds
