DJBravo Posted March 20, 2023 Report Posted March 20, 2023 OpenAI’s chatbot, ChatGPT, has been making waves since its beta version was released in November 2022. The AI chatbot can respond to any question in a human-like manner, and carry out various tasks such as writing code, composing poetry, generating website content, and more. However, the enhanced and more powerful version of ChatGPT, GPT-4, has raised concerns about the potential for AI to replace human jobs. OpenAI founder Sam Altman acknowledges that ChatGPT could possibly replace some human jobs, but he also believes that human creativity is limitless and that new jobs will be created. In an interview with ABC News, Altman admitted to being “a little bit scared” of his creation, acknowledging that artificial intelligence will “reshape society and comes with some real dangers.” He also expressed concern about the possible use of AI for large-scale disinformation and offensive cyberattacks. Altman emphasized that while ChatGPT is currently under human control, there is a risk of humans not putting the necessary safety limits in place. He urged society to figure out how to react, regulate, and handle AI’s increasing power. Overall, Altman believes that AI has the potential to be “the greatest technology humanity has yet developed” to improve our lives, but also emphasizes the importance of being cautious and aware of its potential risks.
