I see some FT employees owning houses in layers of clothes and jackets on Teams meetings to save on electricity bills in winters (obviously cold house, not room temperature).

Just do what they are doing. You cannot expect to own a house with low electricity bills.

Do you own the house, if its a brand new home, it will have good insulation.. low cost on electricity

what? mine 1990 built and 2800 sqft(ranch and basement), power bill never exceeds $80. Gas - (30-50) in summer and 100+ in winters.

local electric companies usually do an energy audit and let you know if insulation needs to be changed.

if windows are kinda new, blinds or curtains help a lot
