If you want to stay very close to BWH, studio minchi radu aa budget ki unless you're willing to share. Cambridge lo you might get some 1B1B apartments.

$3000 budget and nearby kavalante - Studio may be a possibility. 

Kaasta Roxbury Crossing, Brookline Center ala velte slightly nicer place vastundi. I personally like Brookline center for quality of life in terms of safety, train, food options etc.
