It used to be called as Begumpet Airport, though it was much smaller than current airport, it used to operate international flights albeit in limited international routes, 

Bokka ippudu RIGA ki kuda peddaga em routes levu except thru middle east to North America in comparison with Bangalore.

Kattindhi congress but shameless people label it as "intitiated" , 2007 lo Kattina IIT Nene chesa Ani siggu Lekunda pracharam chesu kovadam 

one govt institution IDPL created the multi billion Pharma business in Hyderabad . 

Govt institutions are okay to build a base and not ruined by labour union /politics

So you didn't travel thru chatrapathi shivaji terminal and IGIA T3 in Delhi; 

I haven't traveled thru banglore but it has got a new terminal. 

Hyderabad airport is budda (very small) airport compared to the ones I mentioned. 

Even Kolkata airport which is operated by AAIA better than Hyderabad airport. 

all these I am saying is because I traveled 1 week ago. 

Hyd airport lo when you finish stamping at Emigration counter after security check; only little space for waiting for international flights, you see a big partition for domestic and international. 
asal waiting area sakkaga ledu, food options levu. the good thing abt hyd aiport is duty free prices are on par with Dubai airport cheaper than Delhi.
