Vijayamma’s First Reaction On Slapping Police

On a fateful day today, YS Sharmila was arrested by police and she slapped a woman police constable and police sub inspector. YS Vijayamma who went to the police station too found herself in a similar situation and she slapped a woman police constable. After two back-to-back incidents, the videos of Sharmila and Vijayamma slapping cops have gone viral. Amidst this, Vijayamma called for a press briefing where she explained her version of the story.

Speaking to media persons, Vijayamma defended the act of herself as well as Sharmila. Vijayamma said police were touching inappropriately and this led to the incident. She said it was a normal reaction of a human being. Vijayamma said police personnel in tens of numbers are forcefully stopping Sharmila. She questioned whether it is a democracy or not.

 

Meanwhile, Vijayamma breathed fire at the ruling party. She asked how long police would make house arrests of Sharmila. Vijayamma said Sharmila completed padayatra for 3800 km for people of Telangana. She said one should have a concern towards a woman who is walking for the people and their issues. Vijayamma said Sharmila is being targeted and being arrested by police for questioning the mistakes of the government.

Vijayamma said Sharmila wants to serve the Telangana people and bring back the legacy of late YS Rajasekhar Reddy. Vijayamma appealed to the media and people of the state to empathise with Sharmila and her uncompromising fight against the BRS government. Vijayamma said justice is with them.
