have to send office laptop for a friend who has to make an extended stay in india.

what is the best and safe way?

 

Note : Dont give suggestions like send with someone going.. I have already tried that and taking shipment route now

be prepared to answer customs questions. and pay some duty.

DHL and FedEx are your frnds in this regard, 
they do customs clearance for you provided you give proper documentation.

did his office permit him to work from india? if yes then his company should be able to take care of that
