Mindgame2023 Posted May 9, 2023 Report Posted May 9, 2023 utterance: TDP and BJP alliance history in andhra prdesh The TDP (Telugu Desam Party) and BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) have had a somewhat tumultuous alliance history in Andhra Pradesh. In the 1999 general elections, the TDP-BJP alliance won a majority of seats in the state and formed the government with Chandrababu Naidu as the Chief Minister. However, the alliance broke up in 2004 due to differences over seat-sharing and other issues. In the 2014 general elections, the TDP-BJP alliance was revived and the parties won a majority of seats in the state once again. This time, Naidu became the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. However, in 2018, the alliance fell apart again due to issues related to special status for the state. The BJP then formed an alliance with the YSRCP (Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party) and supported it in the 2019 general elections. The YSRCP won a majority of seats in the state and formed the government with Jagan Mohan Reddy as the Chief Minister. Currently, the TDP and BJP are not in an alliance in Andhra Pradesh, and both parties are pursuing their own political agendas in the state. 1 Quote
