Social security changes after Green card

I got my GC last year.Do we need to go to social security office and report immigration change?

yes, you will get new ssn card, number will be same

not required buddy .... if we do not do it then we have to submit both SSN and GC copies for work authorization when you apply for new company anthe. .... anthakanna emi ledu naa telisinantha varaku

Yup, after GC it is not mandatory. But after citizenship compulsory visit to SSN office is needed.

Why is it needed? It has been 4 years and I still keep my first SSN card only
