Zip code matters too. For some zip codes 80k is upper middle class. Talking about cities with a population close to 100k .

Midwest lo still 100k good bro to live, but it would be tight to afford a home though with that salary anywhere in usa now

can't believe when I landed in usa 100k was like a dream for many folks and now its not even considered an ok salary

going by the fb expats group, even 160k etc gets comments as average salary, inflation changed the dollar story for many I guess
