OP, i have an acount with ML. BOA has some benefits depending upon how much money you hold with them. It's like a tiered system. As ML belongs to BOA, your balance in ML brokerage account counts towards BOA balance as well. Check BOA/ML websites for specifics.

If you don't bank with BOA, consider options like schwab, etrade or fidelity. better UI etc. YMMV

They charge min 1-1.5% commission and just invest in regular funds and do tax loss harvesting. I’m sure if you use some robo advisor on fidelity they also can do the same

BoA of large amount undakkarledu bro for platinum status. If you have in Merrill as investment, you can still get platinum status in BoA. I think I have cmz and ira accounts, need to check. But basic ga instead of having a large savings account in BoA, it's better to put it as an investment account in Merrill edge.
