Jatka Bandi Posted June 3, 2023 Report Posted June 3, 2023 Like many of you, I was in quest for a good bed in US. Hate all those beds that sink or are soft. We discussed many times here many years ago on which beds are the best. Ikea extra firm, Temperpedic, bokka boshanam ani chaala discuss chesinam. I liked nothing. A simple coconut coir+cotton bed from India on cots are the best mattresses I thought. Kani I feel the beds in procedure rooms or examination rooms of hospitals (not outpatient) in both India and US or even a massage table in US are perfect.. they offer support and comfort. They don't sink in. Manam kone mattresses ee inka bulky and heavy ga anipistayi. These hospital and massage ones are also subjected to heavy use but I do not see them go bad easily. So, why do people not make beds in that fashion? Those offer the right height, comfort, spine support, and durability. What's the reason? TL;DR: Beds in procedure rooms of hospitals in India and US, and massage tables in US feel the best comfort. Alanti material and structure tho manam roju padukune beds enduku cheyaru? Quote

seeva Posted June 3, 2023 Report Posted June 3, 2023 Try out high density foam mattress made by this company in canada http://www.comfortnightfurniture.com/ They will ship it to you. They are ultra firm (more firm than IKEA or any others that I've tried and these stayed firm after 2 years). Most of my Indian friends love this mattress. Quote

They may be good at first but not durable. Adi naa point. Quote
AvramFaind Posted April 15, 2024 Report Posted April 15, 2024 Your observation about the beds in procedure rooms and massage tables is spot on. They do seem to offer the perfect combo of support and comfort. It makes you wonder why more beds aren't made like that, doesn't it? Maybe it's just a matter of awareness or cost? Quote

A lot of desis buy from that store. Around $300-$450 untundi depending on size. There are many more stores in that street that sell cotton mattresses. They are good for 5-6 yrs. Quote
RaphaelChou Posted April 15, 2024 Report Posted April 15, 2024 Sometimes the simplest setups offer the best comfort. Funny enough, I had a similar experience when I stayed at a boutique hotel with a super comfy bed that felt like those in procedure rooms. It made me wonder why more beds aren't designed that way. Recently, I came across Furniture Lux, and their focus on quality and comfort reminds me of those hospital beds. Quote
