If it wasn’t a small city, relief would have been much faster.

Air India did a great job at handling the situation. Looks like the city is very small with not even a hundred hotel rooms to accommodate 250 passengers and crew. Short notice la food arrange cheyadam kuda kastame esp in a land where language is a barrier and near zero modern facilities.

To understand how vast and isolated the area where they landed is. 

Magdan oblast is three times the size of andhra pradesh with 1.5 lakh population

Yeah, and it’s in middle of no where…look at the map where the flight landed, strangely thy isolated part had a working runway good enough to land a 777…..Vladivostok or any other nearest airport is literally 3-4 hours away.

They took pretty much same time to ferry passengers from Stockholm in Feb and no refunds. It a new norm with Air India aka TATA. Many emergency landings and frequent cancellations in last few months.
