A lot depends on the boy's parents. Boy knows the best about their parents. If the girl is good, there are many instances where the in-laws accept them and like them eventually. But a lot depends on the parents nature. 

I think your friend may not be realizing, but there will be a lot of challenges for him as well. Let him not be blindsided by love. He knows what the girl looks like outside and her behavior outside. But staying with the person he will know a lot about her hygiene, food, habits, etc. With difference in culture, food and habits it will be even more. 

Let them talk through it and understand expectations and Jump into it. If they love each other that much, solution will come for every problem.
