Y 2 telugu's talk in english when meet outside?

I have seen this a lot in USA. When two telugu people meet outside, they talk in English. I understand a group gathering when there might be other language people.

Are we not proud of our language?

Idi naa genuine question. evaranna Telugu ani teliste, nenu eppudu telugu lo ne matladutanu. Kani naaku ardham kaadu, reply english lone vastundi esp kotta vallu ayithe.

I think it depends from person to person.

in my circle all of them speak telugu, even at work when no non-telugu around.

In my experience I saw a person doing it for first few meets. He was fresher with no exp and he don’t want to extend conversation or share any personal info of him.

Nuvvu USA lo antuvau. I saw it in Hyd [financial district lo] among kids. Okka 3rd-4th class pillalu playing in apt playground in evening and all were talking in english among each other. Initially I thought vere state valu emo ani, then their parents came and they were talking in telugu.
