Sun belt states lo ayithe hard material best. They last long. Kani Canada or North east lo vinyl siding is safe. Brick and concrete housing lo insulation is a big issue. They absorb heat and your utilities bill goes up.

many old homes in cold states are made with brick and there’s no issue with proper insulation 

it’s just that brick is expensive than cheap vinyl siding 

stucco-> brick->wood->vinyl
