+ve if you have battery (powerwall) no issues with outsges..with tornado alley kind of weather inntexas this is huge bonus

+ no anxiety of high electricity bills in summer 

+higher home value when u sell

 

-ve upfront cost 

-ve huge delays in install from tesla

-ve in case of any roof damage 

-ve also need to handle if roof replacement needed 

 

Overall I did not thought much got close 10k for 22k after tax rebate including powerwall with wait time of 6 months for install..ordered in 2022 November and installed and got it operational in 2023 March while atleast 4 storms and 5 hrs power outage so far powerwall has been amazingly useful..

Overall go for it if u plan to stay in house for 10yrs minimum and also willing to take risks for insurance and roof replacement if u high electric usage and don't want any grid dependency
