First list down major service providers in your area,

For some places, there will very few providers  So no price advantage. Just pick reliable/faster service.

Google fiber , at&t fiber .. at&t Gary crooked fellow. Go if Google fiber does not exist   .Verizon also good anta .. t mobile and spectrum are bekar panchayithi..

Sign a year contract as new customer every year. Switch between you and your spouse. Always they have lowest price for New customer/paperless/auto pay combo. All it takes is to reset the modem and call them to assign the modem to new connection. Always use your own modem, they charge around 15-20 /  month if you are using their equipment.
