దేశంలో అమూల్ (ఆనంద్ మిల్క్ యూనియన్ లిమిటెడ్) డెయిరీ తర్వాత రెండో స్థానంలో ఉన్న విజయా డెయిరీ 2015లో పూర్తిగా మూతపడింది. చిత్తూరు జిల్లాతో పాటు రాష్ట్రానికే ప్రతిష్ఠాత్మకంగా నిలిచిన ఈ విజయా డెయిరీని ఏపీ సర్కారు గతేడాది అమూల్ డెయిరీకి అప్పగించింది. 99 ఏళ్ల పాటు లీజుకు ఇచ్చింది. ప్రభుత్వ నిర్ణయాన్ని విపక్షాలు, పాడిరైతులు తీవ్రంగా తప్పుబట్టారు. 

కాగా, మూతపడిన విజయా డెయిరీని అమూల్ పర్యవేక్షణలో మళ్లీ ప్రారంభిస్తున్నారు. జులై 4న సీఎం జగన్ చేతుల మీదుగా విజయా డెయిరీ ప్రారంభోత్సవం కార్యక్రమం జరగనుంది. ఈ మేరకు చిత్తూరు మున్సిపల్ కార్పొరేషన్ కమిషనర్ డాక్టర్ జె.అరుణ వెల్లడించారు. 

1945లో చిల్లింగ్ సెంటర్  గా ప్రారంభమైన విజయ డెయిరీ 1969 నుంచి పూర్తిస్థాయి డెయిరీగా కార్యకలాపాలు ప్రారంభించింది. 2002లో ఇది మూతపడగా, 2008లో పునరుద్ధరించారు. కానీ 2015లో మళ్లీ మూతపడింది. 

అప్పట్లోనే ఈ డెయిరీ కోసం రూ.30 కోట్ల విలువైన యంత్ర సామగ్రి విదేశాల నుంచి తెప్పించారు. డెయిరీ 33 ఎకరాల్లో విస్తరించి ఉండగా, ఇక్కడ భూమి విలువను బట్టి రూ.500 కోట్ల విలువ చేస్తుందన్న అంచనాలు ఉన్నాయి. ఏపీ ప్రభుత్వ నిర్ణయంతో విజయా డెయిరీ ఆస్తులన్నీ అమూల్ పరం కానున్నాయి.

One fine day, co-op runs into losses…and assets disappear. Help from the government stops…on the other side, sukhender reddy becomes MP, co-op society vanishes and heritage factory comes up in narkatpally, all the small farmers who use to sell Milk to Co-OP had to sell milk to hertitage at lower cost..
