Gulf players have access to cheap gas but cost of operations of those airlines is actually very high compared to European owing to their large fleets and investments into modern infra. 
 

European carriers are competitive actually. Desi’s used to be price sensitive but iyalrepu bagane karchu pedutunattu vunnaru….Esp premium economy class Ki

There is enough demand and indians actually moved up in spending.

Elders prefer 7 + 7 flights and many buy business class for themselves or for their patents. 

Europe to India routes are welcome. Gulf airlines need competition.

Etihad service is bad , Qatar is expensive and Emirates is the only one which is reasonable in most routes.

Lufthansa can easily compete.

India can actually do that if not happening already. In two years, we will have about 80-100 long range aircrafts which can fly point to point without the need for gulf layovers. 
 

A big partnership is on the cards, Singapore Lufthansa and Air India are planning a partnership including code share, maintenance, training, service, sharing fo facilities and infra etc. it will take some more time to materialize but once that’s in place, Guld based airlines will feel the competition, they are actually competering themselves…Emirates, Qatar, Etihad, Turkish airlines are competing themselves and now they have another player Riyadh Air.

Personally for me or with Family (with Kids) i prefer non Stop Flight to Hyd or Bangalore. Pilla kayalatho flight maradam atu itu povadam kastam... if layover time is less...

It’s just that Lufthansa is planning for partner with Air India to provide last mile connection along with Singapore Airlines which will give us more flexibility to travel …
