Tyrannosauraus_Rex Posted July 5, 2023 Report Posted July 5, 2023 While Interstellar will always remain my all time favorite science fiction movie - Arrival is a close second. Thought provoking movie. I am just glad that there's a movie industry like Hollywood that is interested in and has produced great movies based on space like 2001 : A Space Odyssey 2001, Contact, The Martian, Apollo 13. Ad Astra was underrated but I loved it. 2 Quote

spiritualguy Posted July 5, 2023 Report Posted July 5, 2023 arrival movie is the real soft disclosure of the alien interaction with the govt which happened in the 1940's or 1950's. ET beings in the ufo spoke paleo sanskrit and govt couldn't understand at that time so they brought sanskrit scholars to translate the symbols and the language. 1 1 Quote

For once a movie where aliens were shows as more sensible and sensitive instead of trying to show them as scary monsters. And that concept of time was very spiritual, to our own cultural beliefs as well in the past. Denis Villeneuve is a great director. 1 Quote
tennisluvrredux Posted July 5, 2023 Report Posted July 5, 2023 I spent a lot of time listening to podcasts on the Sapir Wharf hypothesis they show in the movie. Quote

Nolan’s movies have a different sound design compared to the other movies.. the sound takes the movie to a whole different level.. without that, it will be like watching rrr on a video print.. Quote
