I hope this is just one point and there is even stronger story around this point.  

I am expecting a strong flashback story and some modern day conflict point

Mandela was a mediocre movie that tried to gloss over its wafer thin plot with a lot of forced humour, and a preachy message. It took it's own ridiculous plot way too seriously.

one similarity with mandela is the female leads of both movies have gorgeous long hair.
