Idhi ma office colleague gadi story. He is seemingly healthy, fit and overall ga bane untadu. Bayata food and processed food kuda takkuva, no smoking or drinking as far as I know.

Oka 2 years nundi frequent ga back pain vastunde anta. Doc emo normal pain lite teeako annadnta, next visit lo urgent care ki velthe scan chesi kidney abnormal ga undi ani notes lo pettaru but didn't refer to a specialist. Veedi next annual physical lo anni bane unnay ani scan report chudaledu primary physician.

Last month pain severe ga vaste he went again, scan chesi  malli kidney issue undemo ani specialist ki refee chester, extra tests chesi came to conclusion that oka kidney completely stopped working and second one is also degrading. The damage is permanent, so edo surgery cheste they can preserve the remaining kidney anta. Reason could be by birth but emi symptoms levu so far and he looked perfectly fine. Ikkademo waiting times ekkuva he is flying to India for further tests and any surgeries. He wants to sue the urgenty care doc for not diagnosing at right time or referred to a specialist which could have slowed the damage atleast.

Whole body check up is what's needed which includes serum cretanine, Blood Urea Nitrogen(BUN) tests.

Folks who visit India usually visit many restaurants to fulfill their palate but ignore health check ups.

Next time when you're visiting India, get whole body checkup packages at REPUTED diagnostic centers such Vijaya, Konark, Lucid etc.,

agree, edaina doubt unte have to ask docs for more tests. vallu usual ga suggest cheyaru, cud be due to hospital rulebook or insurance. ikkada kante India ne better one can get rigorous evaluation done with minimal wait time and get 2nd/3rd opinion.

Some aspect la Ind better. For some US better like 1st treatment bill later. But recent oka thed la cheppa paisal vundi yedhanna serious issue vundi Ani doubt vasthe Ind trip veyyandi go for all tests. I did last year and super care chesaru of course paisal and family frnd. You can find samething in India. Here bill lekunda treatment is good but tests cheyyandra Ani bathiladali and insurance lolli. I am not comparing both countries but Ind la easy ga test lu aithai. Treatment you can decide later jabbu ardham aithe US na Ind na anedhi. Ind aithe just money matters.

Regular check up lo blood draw chestharu .. that will tell ur kidneys and liver health too.. so it not only just sugar and cholesterol.

He is asking for any recommendations for nephrologist/urologist in Hyderabad and if it makes sense to discuss with a lawyer here on the hospital/doc issue.

Urgent care doctor is not your family physician.. they treat only immediately impacting issues like high fever, fractures , injuries, etc that require urgent care and you cannot wait for your regular physician appointment.. they don’t even have your medical history..

Urgent care doc usually treats and asks to follow with pcp. They dont make referrals. Sorry to hear.

consult a lawyer who deals with medical malpractice in your state. Kidney failure doesn't happen overnight, if he waited two years to go see a doctor there's no grounds to sue. It's his fault to wait so long and as someone else said urgent care doctors usually don't refer. He has to follow up with his primary care physician or consult a specialist after diagnosis

You can ask anything(even new medicine queries)if you can pay money. Insurance will not cover every test. India lo most people don’t have the courage to ask doctors, they just listen to what they say.
