What if he has gun? Robber can shoot the owner and walk free as he can say my life is in danger.

Who ever is recording is Right - only a cop could do something. 

But, 

Robber seemed to have a knife in his back pocket- ? which might just save the owner.

Agree man that is what attorneys are paid to prove, but hitting with stick after he is neutralized will be seen as little aggressive by the jury/judge.  I am not disputing that it is wrong but law says let them take whatever they want but don’t endanger yours or others life ani cheptunnadi.
