Recommended Posts

Hi folks, I'm looking automate monthly investment for a s&p 500 index fund. There are quite a few and I'm not sure what to consider..

I keep hearing about expense ratios.......

Can someone throw some light and suggest some index funds that you are invested in? Are there good s&p 500 index funds with dividend yields? TIA.

Fidelity so SPAXX ani money market fund untundi .. around 5.25% interest anukunta. Interest is paid every month. Safest best in the market. Park your cash there.

I am invested in JEPI, JEPQ, BST, BSTZ, PDI, GOF. Research them.

For Automation check VFIAX. But the minimum initial investment is $3,000. After that, you can automate.
The expense ratio is super cheap.

S&P 500 Index funds track S&P 500 companies, so you only get what the combined S&P 500 is yielding (Approximately 1.65% for this year).

short term lo money market fund migh tbe good. but this will not last long. if there is a market dip , its better to buy an index stock for long term

There is a MYGA that gives 5.25% guaranteed for 7yrs and there are no fees. It compounds tax deferred unlike a CD.

Is this qualified(401k, IRA etc) or non qualified money(savings acct etc)?

Nice diverse portfolio bhayya...but end of the day, will it match S&P 500 performance in the long term?

My target is different. Keep investing in these to get to a $1million portfolio, so that the income is $10k USD/month. Over a period of time, considering the Div payouts and the growth in the value of these, these will outperform S&P.

For example, S&P has increased 25% from last sep to now. JEPI considering its growth and div payouts comes in at 20%. But this is an unusual situation where S&P has grown contineously from last sep.

If we compare JEPI with S&P500 from last sep till Mar 23, JEPI has outperformed S&P 500 by a lot. so depends on the time frame of comparison.

You have given me new fodder to chew and add to my calcualtions - Comparision with S&P 500 or Nasdaq (whatever these funds are based on) over a period of time.

Posted information on Page 7 on this below thread. you would need around 500K to get 5k USD money. With current Interest rates (Least risky) 500K would generate $2500+ at current yields.
