Ok follow their advice, you are on the right track. India trip will help if your parents are social, if not its the same thing. But one thung for sure is they talk more than we do

not responding to name is something you need to take serious. My nephew 3 yrs old had similar vocabulary and not responding to name. Is in India for 8 months and still not much progress.

Best is to take the advice of doctors/professionals. Get a 2nd opinion in India with Indian doctors. Continue with speech therapy. Arrange play dates with kids who are a little older. If possible get your parents or in-laws.

I understand sending kids to India to be with grand parents which might help, but you will miss out on a lot of cute moments with your kid. My best time was with kids at this age.

@AEO Kids learn a lot faster from other kids. Playschool lo English and telugu at home might be confusing. Some kids are late bloomers. So setup play dates with other telugu kids but a little older who speak and communicate well.

This won't be a popular suggestion, but when your kid turns 3 may be try "Kumon" for English. It helped my kid a lot with vocabulary, communication, speech and learning during those days.

OK, looks OK to me.  No need to worry. Try to communicate with him as much as you can, it does not matter whether he pays some attention or not.

is he mimicking your actions?

I was told by my parents that, When I was kid, I was not communicating until age of 5.

Kid to Grandparents in India is a big NO. You guys just need to spend proper time with your kid, evaluate progress, talk to professionals etc.,

There are many cases ilanti situation lo kids got effected more if sent to India and it would be difficult for you to track your kids progress. Kavalante send your wife as well...
