if you are using diff meeting tool

try to use good quality  noise cancelling microphone.. it will not pick up background noise at all.. now  a days AI noise cancelling  mic are coming up.

 

i use below webcam, it has inbuilt AI noise cancelling mic, which cuts out background noise beautifully.

Don't cook during that time. Inform your wife ahead of time not to put cooker or grinder or other sounds.

Even a simple headphone cuts down a lot of noise. 

If for whatever reason, noise comes, apologize before your manager comments. Say sorry, give a decent reason and move on.
