Honestly none of the stars from TG can be classified as true stars. Most of them are just starting their career or they don't have the same charisma or following as PK or JrNTR or MB. VD has the craze but Nithin has more hits to his name and is more established. So I voted for him..

Hyderabad lo anna Bangalore lo VD gani cinema theater lo choste telustadi vani popularity enta bibasanga unnado ani.

Insipte of banyankaramaina flop like Liger see how much business his next movie will do.

VD is both fortunate and unfortunate at the same time, AR helped him very early in his career to catapult him into a different league but unfortunate thing he didn’t had a career arc to deserve such a hit/movie so early in his career and that made any new movie of his falls flat in comparison to AR. Dear Comrade is one of his best works but fell flat in comparison to AR. Geeta Govindam was an exception and it worked because of youthful romcom, music and marketing. He will need to do more movies like Geeta Govindam to come out of the AR mould and make people forget it.

Imo AR lo VD one of the best performances I have seen an actor act in Telugu cinema. Kamal Hassan’s Mahanadi, Chinajeevi’s Apadbandavudu are very few movies that comes to my mind.

he has weak links as well, he cannot dance and generate comedy with variations like mass heros. So he need to choose carefully what he can do best like author backed roles

he can never be a mass super star like PK, Chiru or NTR because of weak links he has but will have a special fan following among college goers which is left open for grabs after PK. Anyways I think the era of a mass super star is done in all languages.
