Popular Post r2d2 Posted August 16, 2023 Popular Post Report Posted August 16, 2023 Kids in Illinois will soon be able to sue their own parents if they fail to pay them profits from any social media posts featuring them, thanks to a new law sparked by a 16-year-old girl. The bill passed this week grants protections to minors under the state's Child Labor Law, after the issue of child exploitation on social media was brought to the attention of lawmakers by high school junior Shreya Nallamothu. Under the new rules, which come into force July 1 2024, after being signed into law by Governor JB Pritzker, influencers in Illinois will soon be legally required to share the profits made on posts with their kids. 6 Quote

NRI kids should be raised carefully. Providing them whatever they want is not parenting anymore. It's more like spoling them with a sense of entitlement. Kids should be taught about their heritage & culture. Bring them to India as much as you can. Remind them how much lucky they are for being born or raised in the US unlike you or your fellow Indians who don't have the luxury of living in a first world country with world class faciilities. Otherwise, kids might turn out like this, suing own parents, a trademark of rich spoiled brats. Quote

Things will not be in your control and saying these things will only increase the gap between parents and kids. Being friendly with them and encouraging them to share stuff is better in my opinion.
