yes…as per science moon created from earth…

as per ancient hind text i can assume you are referring క్షీరసాగరమధనం…

but in that క్షీరసాగరమధనం not only moon lot many things came like లక్ష్మీ దేవీ, కల్పవృక్షం, అమృతం ..etc 

but it leads to bigger discussion if you go with ancient hindu texts…like how come moon (చంద్రుడు) has affair with his gurupathni తార…etc

and also as per దక్ష పురాణం…how he married to all other stars like అశ్వని, భరణి…etc

let me tell you...few things..(assorted order..)

from all these years all western media/society...praises and promoted greek philosophy or philosophers...and what they said...but there is good amount of enlightenment happend in eastern side as well..examples like budda, jain, makkali gosala, few upanishads (from vedas)...etc

there is a good amount thought process..in Europe greece and as well as in India...

in india philosophy they theorized good amount of things.....and exampled in simple day to day terms like below..

in ancient days...they really put a brain and think about all this...

My theory is that, Europeans traveled all over the world and spread their culture, heritage, philosophies, theories and their learnings.. in a way, they publicized their knowledge.. Indians didn’t travel much.. most of what we know about our culture is from those old texts and some of them were written by foreign travelers who visited India and documented many things that happened..we kept it to ourselves.. 

we still talk about Vivekananda’s speech in Chicago.. we don’t have a record of another Indian traveling to another country and explain our philosophy and culture..
