For Indians its an achievement since its only the 4th country to land rover on moon.

For Americans- They have seen this way long back, They don't care much about moon missions. They are more interested on Mars 

USA and Soviet Union literally had dominance over the moon in the early 60's and 70's

This is a great achievement for India. A lot of respect for India in International Space. Every country is acknowledging it including our rivals. Its really sad, some Indians cant see this as their judgement is clouded by Politics and what not.
