Panimanishi's ruling in AP/Telangana

Panimanishi's in hyderabad are ruling. There was a time when they used to ask for work. Now they pick and choose who they work for. Probably a result of ppl getting dependent on them for day to day works.

In my colony in hyd, all panimanishi's belong to lambadis and formed their own association and decide who they should work and not. They do not allow any new ppl to work in colony. They decide rates and all amenities they should get.

We got to know about an incident today where the panimanishi caught the neck of our neighbor owner where she works. Owner did not say anything. Panimanishi brushed aside the incident saying she did not do it seriuosly but only in lighter manner. Owners family who was around did not utter a single word.

Man .. i could not believe. We are so dependent on them ?? SAD. Really SAD.

Domestic help are in huge demand vaa…

Maa into degara Evening 6 kalla a group of lambadis set up ‘Jonna Rotte’ road side stall and in no time you will see lot of people standing in line to get their orde, 25 Rs per roti during the day they all do domestic help work in the houses. Average ga as a family they make almost a lakh a month.

Dignity and earnings of labor force is catching up fast…good to see this section of community getting uplifted financially and getting recognized for their hard work.

another symptom of sickness in society.

one evil spawning another evil

first evil is lazy bums that can't do their own work, and need a maid/cook/cleaner etc.

second evil is people forming unions and preventing others from driving the price of that 1st evil service down.

in the end, someone should get hurt, for others to continue to live and well, and others be uplifted.

what a sick society.

evil begets evil. people who have zero moral compass shouldn't expect others to have morals as well.

why do people need maids in the age of roombas, dishwashers, and washing machines?

I know some assholes in my building that brought a young girl from salem to look after their 2 kids. And that girl ended up stealing from their house and got kicked out.

I laugh when I learn about all this.

I mean wtf are people thinking when they are having kids.. do people even think? I want more maids to be even more assertive against their employers. I love when these people cry to me about it. I laugh heartily on the inside.

another avenue is the job of driver/cleaner. similar useless job.

In our case, my parents never had maids. They are getting old and I ask them to get one. But they don't saying they are not comfortable.

In case of others, if people can afford maids, why should they not? Isn't it similar to any other trade? They are useful esp. for people who are getting old and who do not want to go to old age homes and don't have their kids living near by.

one of the greatest moments in my life was when my bil brought a new VW Passat many years ago, while he was living in India and the car got severely keyed while being parked in our apartment.

the guy lost his mind. haha.. and tried to bully a dozen people to find out who did it. I was enjoying the entire meltdown, and just wished he'd broken the windows too.

I don't even hate my bil. He's mostly a nice guy.. but that upper middle class arrogance is impossible to sympathize with. Its better for these people to cry some of the times.

Most homes (aged parents) in India do not have roomba, dishwashers. Even if you install, they do not know how to use. Even if they know how to use, they do not use. I am completely against kids working as maids. But whats the problem in using grown up maid's when they are offering their services?

Haha. I saw the same. I am amazed at how much these lambadis work. Morning they work in homes as helpers. Evenings they work on jonna rotte, etc. Nights some of them work as chex workers. I was really shocked in feb when I visited india. My dad gave me a good summary of all the things that happen there and I saw with my own eyes.

No, its not similar to any trade. the market has driven down the price of househelp to the bottom. why do you think they have organized as a union?

people who can't do basic stuff themselves are horrible people.

your parents are decent.

the service is underpriced, and the people offering that service live in horrible conditions. they are not paid enough to live comfortably..

I agree on your anger on middle class arrogance, but a lot of it comes from money self made. He must have bought the car with his hard earned money. Even though his methods are wrong to bully ppl in finding who did it, I don't find fault with his anger.

I’m thinking to marry a maid from village , such that she can be helpful to mother and for me as a wife… no it, doctor or any profession.

strictly a village maid
