they made sure the lander soft landed during moon light days, if not on 23rd August their plan was to move 25th August, if not then after next sun light moon days is plan b... But fortunately the lander made sure the surface is all good to land..but the August 23rd plan is Moon light days, so shadow is obvious and normal...

equipment - not much trouble, as long as there is solar power to the lander, it is functional, first 14 light days, it will work as expected, next 14 night days it will remain silent and non functional as there is no solar power, all batteries and sensors will be drained, then next 14 days light, if the lander catches the solar power, the lander and rover will still be functional... so next 14 light days is additional if it works, it it doesn't no harm or loss... isro did not deny that it wont function after 14 light days, as long as there is solar power to lander then all good..
