in a lifetime of being around Telugus, I can easily say who hates Tamils, and why they hate them. Its mostly an unconscious racist bias that a lot Telugus have against Tamils. Surprisingly even some Telangana people have it.

it is not the problem of telugu or tamil, 

somehow it is in our dna that we love to hate ourselves,

that too with comparision,

as if we have nothing else to do.

telugus are racist towards tamils.. not all of them, but a reasonable number are. not just telugus, all south indians are racist towards tamils. Chennai lo untu nay choosam ga open ga jayaram cheppindhi about blackness of a woman who looks like tamil servant. this is how people talk about tamils, telugus included.

tamils are brainwashed by India. they are stuck with a nation whose people are racist against them. they have no way out unfortunately. So they've also adopted that racist attitude given how they talk about north indians these days.

While there are lot of Tambrams who  look white, but most of these groups were shooed away from TN.

Racism is a direct result of color and almost every culture has some form of racism. Central Andhra is racist towards Srikakulam and paderu tribals, same can be told about Seema attitude towards Telangana in general. Telugus are racist towards Biharis who are darker in color. Even Arabs are racist towards Pakis and Banglas in general. 

But racism is not the real issue... you still find a Telugu hating a white tamil because their school of thinking is very different. Tamils were bred by colonists, Telugus were bred by conservative slave masters.

what's even more interesting is that Telugus and Tamils have intermixed continuously over centuries, adopting each other's language and jumping over to the other side many times.. my cousin's paternal grandfather was a Tamil guy, who miraculously raised Telugu kids and whose grandkids identify as Telugu fully.

same the case with telugu-marathi/kannada/oriya speakers at the borders.

cultural revolutions unfortunately have the tendency to create and nurture strong identities completely burying many generational memories of people living in the border states.

to me the distinction between telugu-tamil people I can understand, but not the distinction between tamil-telugu as ethnic groups. it seems more like a spectrum of identites than that cannot be easily slotted into telugu-tamil etc.

one thing common to both mental @Tryad and that brahmincial sanghi @anna_gari_maata is that they both are hardcore sanghis and hate the people around them. But one is upfront about his sanghiness while other is a creep.
