are you prepared to walk the dog a few times a day outside including during mid-nights and early mornings and pick up its poop? are you social and outdoorsy to spend plenty of time and attention with a dog? are you prepared to give it a bath frequently, brush its teeth, take it grooming center...? dogs are big, more expensive, dependent and they bark.

if not, just get a cat which will stay indoors, are low maintenance and no need for any of the above...

if you are still confused, why not get both?
