భారత్‌ అధ్యక్షతన ఈ వారాంతంలో జీ-20 శిఖరాగ్ర సదస్సు (G20 Summit) జరగనుంది. ఈ సమావేశానికి ప్రపంచ వ్యాప్తంగా పలు దేశాల అధినేతలు హాజరుకానున్నారు. ఈ నేపథ్యంలోనే వీరికి రాష్ట్రపతి ద్రౌపదీ ముర్ము సెప్టెంబరు 9వ తేదీన ప్రత్యేక విందు ఏర్పాటు చేశారు. ఇందుకోసం రాష్ట్రపతి భవన్‌ నుంచి ఇప్పటికే అతిథులకు ఆహ్వానం అందింది. అయితే, ఈ ఆహ్వానంపై President of India అని బదులుగా President of Bharat అని ముద్రించి ఉండటం ప్రాధాన్యత సంతరించుకుంది.

తమకు అందిన ఆహ్వానంలో ఈ మార్పును గుర్తించిన కాంగ్రెస్‌ పార్టీ ట్విటర్‌ వేదికగా కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వంపై విమర్శలు గుప్పించింది. ‘‘జీ-20 విందు కోసం President of India బదులుగా President of Bharat అనే పేరుతో రాష్ట్రపతి భవన్‌ ఆహ్వానం పంపింది. రాజ్యాంగంలోని ఆర్టికల్‌ 1లో.. భారత్‌, అది ఇండియా, రాష్ట్రాల సమాఖ్య అని రాసి ఉంటుంది. కానీ, ఇప్పుడు ఈ రాష్ట్రాల సమాఖ్యపైనా దాడి జరుగుతోంది’’ అని కాంగ్రెస్‌ సీనియర్‌ నేత జైరాం రమేశ్‌ సామాజిక మాధ్యమాల వేదికగా కేంద్రంపై ధ్వజమెత్తారు.

ప్రత్యేక సమావేశాల్లోనే పేరు మార్పు..?

ఈ పరిణామాల నేపథ్యంలో దేశం పేరు మార్పుపై ఊహాగానాలు జోరందుకున్నాయి. ఆంగ్లంలోనూ ‘ఇండియా’ నుంచి ‘భారత్‌’గా పేరు మారుస్తూ ప్రధాని మోదీ ప్రభుత్వం ప్రత్యేక తీర్మానం తీసుకురానున్నట్లు వార్తలు వినిపిస్తున్నాయి. ఈ నెల 18 నుంచి 22 మధ్య ఐదు రోజుల పాటు జరిగే పార్లమెంట్ ప్రత్యేక సమావేశాల్లో ఈ ప్రతిపాదనలు తీసుకురానున్నట్లు విశ్వసనీయ వర్గాలు చెబుతున్నాయి. అయితే దీనిపై ఎలాంటి అధికారిక ప్రకటన రాలేదు.

What do I identify myself now? Instead of "Indian", I am a "Bharat'ian". Sounds more like husband of Bharati.
