Jr NTR has just managed to emerge as Tollywood's man of the moment for this Dasara.

The three contenders for the top slot — Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu and Jr NTR's releases hit the screens in the space of one month. While their films evoked a lot of curiosity among the audience and trade circles and were released with much pomp and fanfare, not all of them garnered promising revenue at the ticket windows.

Pawan's much-hyped film Puli, fetched good initials at the BO. But the collections of the clichéd cop story dropped drastically and the film recovered  20 crore, and incurred a deficit of over 15 crore.

Mahesh proved his star power by drawing unprecedented openings. But, he was unable to sustain the collections. The film did garner an opening of  27 crore in two weeks, with a deficit of 10 crore.

Jr NTR's film has truly set the cash registers ringing and given Tollywood something to celebrate this festive season. This film has earned huge theatrical revenue in its first week itself.  Brindavanam is expected to earn 30 crore.

"Only a good plot will make a film successful. But we need big openings to cover our cost and also curb piracy. However, all star films don't earn the same kind of initial collections. Films that are packaged and marketed for all sections of the audience do have an edge," said producer D. Suresh Babu  #~` #~` #~`
