How states get revenue? How cities like HYD makes difference while ppl pay tax to center and each state get similar biscuits? What diff does metros make diff interms of states revenue?

States benefit from municipal taxes, which are higher in metros, higher registration or stamp duties due higher price of RE (land, villas, houses, apartments), excise taxes as metros consumes more alcohol due to large function of population, and then there is SGST (state component) and also tax on petrol and diesel. Again, the consumption is higher cities due to higher population. Then are charges for electricity, water.

Mega cities lekapothe per sq.yd, per sq.ft charges Chinna towns or villages same endhuku untayi? States only make money on consumption. Unfortunately consumption increases only to some extent. 

Thats why even though hyd has lot of money  - TG does not get that much. Let me give an example.

Lets say microsoft open a 100 member center in hyd paying each person 1 crore salary. So total income 100crore - in this delhi directly gets 30 crore as income tax.  Out of 70 crore - lets say they spend  24 crore max  - that is each one spends 2 laks per month  (high earners save a lot more than spend) - assuming gst of 15% -  telangana gets 1.8 crore and delhi gets 1.8 crore. So delhi gets 32 crores already. Finally telangana will get some on petrol taxes (delhi gets even more) and only in booze sales telangana gets its own income.

So out of 100 crores income -  delhi gets somewhere like 34 crores whereas telangana gets only maybe 2.5 crores.

If you by this what's so diff bw ap and tg? I see only IT employees spending that might be huge diff interms of state revenue as ap too have multiple tier 2 cities
