What? You put iPhones in check-in? 

 

You can't lock check-in luggage... if you do, it has to be TSA approved , that too only in USA I think.

You took a big risk... every one can see them. 

Usually at destination, scanners mark the ones with expensive items.

Luggage handlers steal them when loading / unloading the suitcases where there are no cameras.
