My 2 cents , don't be too focused on mpg. . Daily 100 miles kottav kadha .. go test drive this one and you will see why you should go for this ..also,  it comes in budget , you may save gas money here. And phev is good for low miles

i know mazda its interior is like luxury... and drive is good..but i need trunk space which it doesn't have.

mpg with GH per gallon 10mpg difference. 

i drove cx5 for sometime.

palisade.. traverse..  i am not a fan of maxda.. reason is weird.. i dont like symbol design.

reason to change is GH only bigger trunk space in midsize SUV which gives mpg n reliability n resale
