Sandranna arrest proves the dire need for strong second rung leaders in party.

Even though it’s a family party, DMK has powerful district secretaries to run regional party affairs. Strong loyal cadre to back them up. 

Telugu family parties don’t have the same loyalty from leaders or cadres to back them up. Jump from Congress to TDP to YCP. Tarvatha Jana Sena or BJP.

Baboru is not misled. It's desperate attempt.He knows he can't get bail if BJP the ruling party is not on his side. He's following two pronged approach. One to show that Justice system is partial towards him, while in parallel running a media trial making it look like witch hunting to generate sympathy in masses. Baboru is a shrewd man. It's not easy for a someone who came with 2 acre land and take the CM chair and stay in politics for over 4 decades. Don't underestimate him.
