It really doesn't have to do with the present leadership. I got a PhD in space sciences from a leading university in the US, tried coming to work for ISRO about 6 years back, and they asked me to take GATE to be "eligible" without even considering my resume. The system is broken beyond the government. India only makes sense if you are majoring in CS, EE, or business.

This. Same here. I applied at the IIT Tirupathi and maybe HYD too...not even a reject email. LOL. Also, we need to pay an application fee to put in a Job application. It is a huge bureaucratic mess. And, the applications are not straightforward too, sometimes they have hoops and require physical presence a nightmare again.

believe it or not these are the only reasons why students leave india 1) not rewarding meritocracy 2) too much population leads to too much competition 3) too much population depending upon too less tax payers.....thereby less capital expenditure and more revenue expenditures from all the governments (also it helps to gain votes) 4) no rule of law 5) less job opportunities 6) private sectors not investing in r&d...mostly it is done by govt. funded institutions which are run by corrupt govt. employees for me add up two more things 7) cheap real estate 😎 can wear nice shoes without worrying them getting dirty

My friend got job in ISRO... the seniors of reserved system... didnt support the junior of my friends.... they give job and will not tell what to do... 

after an year.... moved out with thirple the package....

govt jobs are joke in India
