All EV companies except Tesla are bleeding money and will continue to bleed money for atleast 2-3 years

they need the r2s and volumes to be profitable.  they should be ok as long as they don't run out of cash and are reducing cash burn compared to previous years/quarters.

Volume is the key, unless you cannot manufacture at scale you are not going to be profitable, Lucid and Rivian will not survive as independent companies but taken over a big auto maker in the next 3-5 years

They will eventually run out, might be another 2 years, if the interest rates are high enough then raising money will be a tough proposition .

they have nice tech and ambition, in some ways even better than a Tesla but Tesla is undercutting them in the price wars as it has achieved vertical integration where it can cut costs in a variety of ways

Doing new things is hard. Many of us want new technologies to mature. And for American enterprises like this to win.

But we're all learning the "energy transition" is not an overnight process. It's decades-long, with wins, losses, and speedbumps along the way.

yup. was easier earlier, will be much tougher now.  they do have a good suv/truck. they need to fix their manufacturing and crank out more suvs. bane wait list vunnattu vundi.

lucid is even worse i think. but they are backed by saudi govt. they may be taken over and go private. the car has good reviews for design and outperforms every thing else in range.

They have very expensive sensors and electrical systems in their bumper , also battery itself is part of the structure and that adds a huge amount for repair costs

Since the heart of the ev is in the chasis/frame(battery, motors, battery coolant liquid and electricals etc), any minor accident that deforms chasis or the frame might even total an ev, insurance is quite high for evs
